What Is Our Culture, Values, & Goals?
The Hōkūleʻa (Hawaiian Voyaging Canoe)
Culture & Relationships

Within Native Hawaiian culture, traditional values and principles are grounded in ancestral relationships between people and places. The art of Polynesian wayfinding is an ancient navigation technique used for thousands of years to navigate the expanse of the open ocean by way of observing the stars, birds, ocean swells, and wind patterns. This form of relationship building between people, places, and things led to nautical exploration and discovery of Polynesian territories, including the Hawaiian islands by its first native settlers centuries ago.

Values & Principles

At Kai PolÅ« Creations, we also hold true to our values and principles as they relate to relationships between people, places, and things. As a core belief for fostering and strengthening long-lasting relationships, the founding members of our company are deeply rooted in the understanding and need for Lōkahi (unity), Kuleana (responsibility), Hō’ihi (respect), Alo (presence), and E mālama pono (self-care). They are integral parts of our island culture and organizational philosophy.

Goals & Actions

In the Hawaiian language, the words “Kai PolÅ«” literally translate to Ocean Blue. As a company, it is through intentional goals and actions that we endeavor to protect and emulate the beauty, diversity, strength, and depth of our world’s oceans. With humility and an open heart, we hope you will join us on this voyage of exploration and discovery as environmental stewards of our global community.

Be You. Be True. Be Ocean BlÅ«e.
